President Bill Kniep has managed a retail wine shop, worked as a sommelier in some of Missouri’s premier restaurants, and worked as the sales manager and marketing director for a small fine wine distributor. In the twenty years since its inception, Pinnacle Imports has grown from a tiny start up into a significant force in Missouri wine, representing top importers from every major wine-growing nation and a diverse selection of domestic artisan and boutique wineries. The company has seen sales growth each of its 20 years in business. Bill brings this experience and a tremendous breadth of oenological knowledge to Pinnacle Imports.
Favorite wine to sell - Favorite wine to sell. I suppose, as the owner of the business, I’d have to say it is our #1 product. The fact that the Siduri Willamette Pinot was started by my great friend, and Pinot Godfather, Adam Lee, makes it that much more fun to sell.
Favorite wine to drink - As far as my favorite wines, choosing among one’s children is almost impossible. I’ll go with a classic and a new wave. I love the raciness of the Thibaud Boudignon Savennieres and the Clos de la Hutte is an obsession right now. And it’s hard to beat the power, minerality, and richness of Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne. Our team were the first visitors to the Domaine after the sale to an American investor. It was a very moving visit.
